# A new Paradime desktop app for macOS

> The rebuilt Paradime desktop app for macOS signs you in through your browser, updates itself, and runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

*October 29, 2026*

![The Install Paradime window: drag the Paradime app onto the Applications folder, then open it from Launchpad](https://mintcdn.com/paradime-docs/xT8TN4y9Md_1nyum/images/paradime-desktop-app-install.jpg?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=xT8TN4y9Md_1nyum\&q=85\&s=a00dbfbe7729ac3ca13118abbbdee6b2)

The Paradime desktop app for macOS is rebuilt from the ground up.

* **Sign in through your browser.** The app opens your usual browser to sign in, so Google, Microsoft, SSO, and your password manager all work as they do on the web. Then it takes you back to the app.
* **One download for every Mac.** **Download the app** on the Home page now gets a universal build for Apple silicon and Intel. Before, it served an old download from 2024.
* **Updates itself.** The app installs new versions on its own. If you installed the app before October 2026, download it again once to get the new version.
* **Starts cleanly.** A new splash screen shows while Paradime loads, with a retry when you're offline.

See [Desktop app](https://docs.paradime.io/products/code-ide/desktop-app.md). Shipped in Paradime v6.21.0 and v6.21.1.
