# Clone your repository through the GitHub App, not only an SSH deploy key

> Workspaces can connect their repository through the Paradime GitHub App and clone over HTTPS everywhere, with Code IDE pushes made as each person.

Until now, a GitHub workspace could only clone its repository with an SSH deploy key that you added to the repository. The Paradime GitHub App already ran Turbo CI, on-merge runs, and Lineage Diff. Now it can also connect the repository itself: on the **Git Repository** page, pick **GitHub App** instead of **Deploy key (SSH)**. Paradime then clones over HTTPS with a short-lived token, and there is no key to add or rotate.

* **HTTPS in every place Paradime clones.** The Code IDE, Bolt runs, and DinoAI agents clone the repository over HTTPS. A Bolt run gets a token for that repository only when the run starts. `dbt deps` also gets `git@github.com:` packages over HTTPS. See [Connect with the GitHub App](https://docs.paradime.io/products/settings/git-repositories/connect-with-github-app.md).
* **Push as yourself.** People who link their GitHub account push from the Code IDE with their own token, so GitHub shows them as the author of the push. If a push is refused, the notice has a link that starts the account link in one click. See [Push from the Code IDE as yourself](https://docs.paradime.io/products/settings/git-repositories/connect-with-github-app.md#push-from-the-code-ide-as-yourself).
* **No GitHub Owner? Ask for one.** If you aren't an Owner of the GitHub organization, GitHub sends your request to the Owners. The page waits and connects when they approve, and gives you a message to send to your admin.
* **Switch an existing workspace.** When an installation already covers a workspace's repository, the page shows a **Switch to the GitHub App** banner. The repository stays the same and the deploy key stays on file, so **Switch back to the deploy key** takes one click.
* **More than one installation.** A company can install the app on more than one GitHub organization. **Settings > Integrations > GitHub** has an **App installations** card where you can add or remove repositories and unlink an installation. See [Manage app installations](https://docs.paradime.io/integrations/github/github-app.md#manage-app-installations).
* **Connect from the API.** The [Workspace Management API](https://docs.paradime.io/developers/graphql-api/api-reference/workspace-management-api) has `gitRepository` and `setGitRepository`, which need an API key with the new **Git repository admin** capability.

The **Git Repository** page is now one view. It asks for your provider, then how Paradime connects, then the steps for that method. **Change repository** disconnects the workspace, so you can connect any repository with any method. See [Update connected git repository](https://docs.paradime.io/products/settings/git-repositories/update-connected-git-repository.md).

Shipped in Paradime v6.24.0.
