# Clone GitLab repositories over HTTPS, not only an SSH deploy key

> Workspaces can clone their GitLab project through the GitLab connection over HTTPS with short-lived tokens, and each person's Code IDE commits are their own.

*November 4, 2026*

Until now, a GitLab workspace could only clone its repository with an SSH deploy key that you added to the project. With the [GitLab connection](https://docs.paradime.io/changelog/2026-11-04/gitlab-integration.md), pick **GitLab connection** on the **Git Repository** page, or in the repository step when you create a workspace. There is no deploy key to add or rotate.

* **HTTPS everywhere Paradime clones.** The Code IDE, Bolt runs, and DinoAI agents clone over HTTPS with short-lived tokens. `dbt deps` installs packages from the same GitLab the same way.
* **Commits are your own.** Each person links their GitLab account from **Settings > Integrations > Personal**, so their Code IDE commits and pushes are made as them. **Create MR with DinoAI** in Git Lite opens the merge request as them too.
* **Keep your deploy key if you want.** Workspaces that already use a deploy key keep working. Paradime links them when you install, and they can switch to HTTPS, and back, at any time.

See [Connect a repository](https://docs.paradime.io/integrations/gitlab/connect-a-repository.md).

Shipped in Paradime v6.24.0.
