# Code IDE errors

> Fix Code IDE problems in your browser, including the Code IDE reloading when you come back to its tab and a slow first load after a day away.

Use this page when the Code IDE reloads, reconnects, or takes a long time to open.

### The Code IDE reloads when you come back to the tab

Your browser put the Paradime tab to sleep. Browsers do this to background tabs to save memory: Microsoft Edge calls it sleeping tabs, and Chrome calls it Memory Saver. A sleeping tab loses its connection to your Code IDE, so when you come back, the Code IDE reloads and you wait for it to load again.

  **Solution**

  Add Paradime to the list of sites your browser always keeps active.

  **Microsoft Edge**

  1. Open `edge://settings/system` (**Settings** → **System and performance**) and go to **Performance**.
  2. Under **Always keep these sites active**, select **Add site**. Older versions of Edge call this list **Never put these sites to sleep**.
  3. Enter `https://app.paradime.io` and select **Add**.

  **Google Chrome**

  1. Go to **Settings** → **Performance**.
  2. Next to **Always keep these sites active**, select **Add**.
  3. Select **Add sites manually**, enter `app.paradime.io`, and select **Add**.

  If you can't change these settings, your organization manages your browser. Ask your IT team to exclude `[*.]paradime.io` from sleeping tabs. In Edge, the policy is `SleepingTabsBlockedForUrls`.

### The Code IDE is slow to open after a day away

Paradime stops your Code IDE after 24 hours without use. The next time you open it, it starts from scratch, so that first load takes longer than usual.

  **Solution**

  No action is needed. The wait only happens on the first open after a day or more away.
