Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with virtual environments in Paradime Code IDE:

  1. The first step in troubleshooting is to delete the virtual environment and recreate it. Use these commands:

    mv .my_venv .my_venv.$(date +%Y%m%d_%H%M%S)
    [ -d ~/.local ] && mv ~/.local ~/.local.$(date +%Y%m%d_%H%M%S)

    Note:

    • This assumes the virtual environment is called .my_venv

    • The second command only moves the local folder if it exists

    • The .local folder is a user-level virtual environment directory

  2. After deleting, recreate the virtual environment using the steps outlined in the Creating a Virtual Environment section.

  3. Ensure you're in the correct directory when creating and activating the virtual environment.

  4. Verify that the correct version of Python is being used (you can check with python --version).

  5. If activation fails, try recreating the virtual environment.
