Find & Explore

The Catalog home is built around one question: where is the asset I’m looking for? Everything starts from the search bar, with the Explore section and the left-panel tree views to help you browse when you don’t yet know the name.

The search bar

At the top of the page, search across every asset in your workspace by name, description, or tags. Type a query and press Search (or Enter) to see results, or press / to add a filter before you search.

Explore

Below the search bar, the Explore section gives you a shortcut into everything the catalog has indexed. Each connected source (every dbt™ project and every connected integration) gets a tile showing live counts of the assets it contains:

• dbt™ projects: counts of Models, Sources, Tests, Seeds, Snapshots, Macros, Analyses, and Exposures.
• BI & ingestion tools: counts of the asset types each tool exposes (for example Looker Dashboards, Explores, and Looks, or Fivetran connectors).

Click any count to open the search results already filtered to that project and asset type. It’s a fast way to browse “all the models in analytics” or “every source” without typing a query.

Recent & favorite searches

When the search bar is empty, the catalog surfaces searches you’re likely to want again:

• Recent searches: the queries you’ve run most recently, so you can pick up where you left off.
• Workspace favorites: the most-run searches across your whole workspace, ranked by popularity.
