DinoAI Tools

DinoAI tools extend the assistant with access to your data warehouse, files, external services, and the web. Each tool is available in Copilot, in the Programmable / Slack / Bolt agents, or both — see the catalog below.

Managing tools

Which tools an assistant can use, and whether they run automatically, is controlled per surface:

In Copilot — the built-in Tools Settings panel. Open it with the Settings icon in the prompt input bar to toggle each tool and choose Auto-accept vs. Ask for permission.
In Programmable Agents — the tools.list allowlist in the agent YAML. See the Tools Reference for allow-listable ids and YAML Configuration for syntax.

Auto-accept, permissions & the Terminal commands allow list (Copilot)

For each tool you can choose how DinoAI handles tool calls:

Mode	Behaviour
Auto-accept	DinoAI runs the tool automatically without asking for confirmation
Ask for permission	DinoAI pauses and waits for your approval before executing the tool

Choose Ask for permission for tools that make writes or run commands, and Auto-accept for read-only lookups where you want faster responses.The Terminal Tool has an additional Commands Allow List — use glob patterns to control which terminal commands are auto-approved:
