These merge request tools are available in Copilot. Standalone agents (Slack Bot, Programmable, Bolt Pipeline) work with GitLab through the
glab CLI in the Terminal Tool instead. See DinoAI agents on GitLab.Before you start
- Your workspace’s repository is a project on a GitLab connection. The tool uses the workspace’s project. You don’t choose the project in the prompt.
- You linked your GitLab account in Settings > Integrations > Personal. If you didn’t, every action answers with a link to connect your account. If GitLab revoked your token, DinoAI asks you to link the account again.
Capabilities
Each action asks for your approval before it runs, by default. You can change this in DinoAI settings.create_merge_request
Opens a merge request from a branch in the workspace’s project.
- Takes a title, a description (Markdown), and the source branch.
- The target branch is the project’s default branch, unless you name another one.
- For a draft, DinoAI adds
Draft:to the title.
read_merge_request
Reads one merge request by its number, for example 42 for !42. It can get:
- Details: the title, state, branches, and merge status.
- Code diff: every changed file.
- CI status: the pipeline and commit statuses of the latest commit, Paradime Turbo CI included.
- Discussions: every comment and review thread, with the file and line of inline comments and whether each thread is resolved.
list_merge_requests
Lists merge requests in the workspace’s project.
- Filter by state (
opened, merged, closed, orall), target branch, or source branch. - Sort by created or updated date, newest or oldest first.
- Up to 100 results per page.
add_merge_request_note
Posts a comment on a merge request’s conversation, as you. The comment is published at once.
