DinoAI tools extend the assistant with access to your data warehouse, files, external services, and the web. Each tool is available in Copilot, in the Programmable / Slack / Bolt agents, or both — see the catalog below.

Managing tools

Which tools an assistant can use, and whether they run automatically, is controlled per surface:
  • In Copilot — the built-in Tools Settings panel. Open it with the Settings icon in the prompt input bar to toggle each tool and choose Auto-accept vs. Ask for permission.
  • In Programmable Agents — the tools.list allowlist in the agent YAML. See the Tools Reference for allow-listable ids and YAML Configuration for syntax.
For each tool you can choose how DinoAI handles tool calls:Choose Ask for permission for tools that make writes or run commands, and Auto-accept for read-only lookups where you want faster responses. The Terminal Tool has an additional Commands Allow List — use glob patterns to control which terminal commands are auto-approved:
Your approval mode decides how these settings are used. Manual follows them as written. In Auto, tool calls that would ask for permission go to a reviewer model first, and most file edits inside your repository run without asking. Full auto ignores them and runs every tool and command without asking.
