September 30, 2026 DinoAI agents can now add watchers to Jira issues, so the people who follow a ticket get Jira’s notifications without adding themselves every time.
  • When the agent creates an issue. create_jira_issue accepts a list of watchers.
  • On an existing issue. The new add_jira_watchers tool adds watchers to any issue. If a watcher couldn’t be added at creation, the issue is still created, and the agent is told to retry with this tool rather than open a second issue.
  • Name people the way you know them. Use an email address or display name. On Jira Cloud you can also use accountId:<id>, and on Jira Data Center username:<name>. Inactive users and names that match more than one person are rejected.
To have an agent add the same people every time, say so in its Backstory, for example: β€œWhen creating a Jira issue, use the Jira tools to add these watchers: alex@example.com, sam@example.com.” If the agent uses a tools allowlist, add add_jira_watchers to it. Watchers are available to agents, not to the Code IDE copilot. See Jira tool. Shipped in Paradime v6.17.0.
